Our Programs
FFA engages in many programs in Kerala aimed at helping the destitute poor to help themselves.
Family Sponsorship
Helping families in dire need through the assistance of an individual sponsor is the heart of the FFA mission in the United States. Sponsors pledge to provide for the basic necessities such as food, clothing and medicines. This assistance is continued until the assisted family is able to continue on their own. The goal is to help families help themselves. The recommended amount of assistance is $25.00 per month. More Information>>
Seeds of Love
The Seeds of Love program permits donors to give a gift to a non-sponsored family to commemorate a special occasion or a memorial gift such as birthdays, anniversaries and feast days. The gift can be designated by the donor for many purposes which include the programs listed below. THE SEEDS OF LOVE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST ONLY DESTITUTE FAMILIES WHO HAVE NO SPONSORS. Housing Program
The housing program helps families to construct simple but sturdy brick and tiled homes to replace huts made of coconut fronds. A secure home greatly increases the health and well-being of the family members. More information>>
Monsoon Relief Fund
The monsoon season wrecks havoc on the poor fisherfolk of Alleppey and the surrounding area. Most live in substandard housing and must yearly suffer with roofs that do not stop the rain from ruining their homes and their health. This fund helps to repair homes and is also used as needed for special needs such as relief for victims of the tsunami of Decompiler 2004. More information>>
Vocational Training Fund
A new program in 2005, there are currently eleven students from the poor sector receiving job-oriented training in computers, nursing, welding, hotel management and other skills. This training will enable the students to get good and steady work. More Information>>
Medical fund
Medicine aid is disbursed quarterly to poor patients who are in regular need of medication and who lack financial capabilities to pay. In addition, help is given to those who require temporary assistance. More Information>>
Micro-Credit Program
If anything, the parable of the talents (Matthew 25: 14-30) emphasizes the responsibility to not only develop our selves but to assist in the development of others. The micro credit program helps sponsored families develop their God given talents to achieve economic independence and fend for themselves. More Information>>
In addition to the above mentioned programs, FFA is constantly reviewing and responding to the needs of the families in Alaphuzah. to develop or revise programs that will be of service to the families and the communities. In addition - we respond to special needs as they arise such as the tsunami that is still affecting the fishing industry all along the coast of Kerala.
